Magnus Carlsen stamp

Curious fact

This became Norway’s first ever chess-related stamp

In 2014, Norwegian Postal Service (Posten) marked the Norwegian Chess Federation’s centenary with the release of their 1890th stamp, emblazoned with an image of Magnus Carlsen. The stamp has been printed in a limited edition of 500,000 copies and will cost 15 Norwegian Kroner (1.8 Euros), the second price level for stamps in Norway.Only 30 stampts are released in Norway each year and it’s extremely rare that a living person ends up on a stamp.
